When interpreted literally, the A slur begins from b. However, the shape of the slur suggests e as the intentional starting point of the slur, and this is how it was reproduced in the editions. We adopt this phrasing, more natural in this context, also to the main text. FE and IE assumed that the imprecise ending of the slur in GE (→EE) reaches the last quaver in the bar.

The ending of the A slur in bar 153 must be inaccurate. To the main text we adopt the GE interpretation thereof (→EE,IE). The later starting point of the slur in FE is most probably a mistake by the engraver. This slur, together with the one in bar 150, undoubtedly means that the entire quaver sequence should be performed continuously legato, as in similar contexts the division of slurs falling on strong beats was often considered irrelevant.

In the main text we reproduce the A slur as combining the a1 crotchet with the b1 quaver. The earlier starting point of the slur in GE (→FE,IE) is a less likely interpretation, since the A notation most probably means that both R.H. bottom voices are to meet on the b1 quaver. The omission of the slur in EE is due to the engraver's mistake.
