b. 132

composition: Op. 64 No 2, Waltz in C♯ minor

The addition to the slur introduced in later GE (most probably on the basis of comparison with analogous bars 20 and 148) may be considered to be justified – see bars 4 and 20. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions |

b. 133-150
|
composition: Op. 64 No 2, Waltz in C♯ minor
..
Over the pair of minims in bars 133-134 and 149-150 in the main text we give the slurs written in A. We consider a possible proofreading of Chopin in FE (→EE) to be only an ad hoc intervention, correcting the misleading reproduction of these slurs (preserved in the majority of GE). category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: GE revisions , Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 136-137
|
composition: Op. 64 No 2, Waltz in C♯ minor
..
In the main text, we give the most certain slurs of A, as far as the sources are concerned. Omission of both slurs in GE1op and GE1no2 may mean that they were originally absent also in FE (cf. bars 138-139), in which, however, a slur in bar 137 was added in the last proofreading. The addition – perhaps coming from Chopin – certainly does not mean that bar 136 is to be devoid of a slur, in turn, it confirms the use of a new slur for bar 137 (cf. bars 8-9). The slurs added in later GE – different for each of two versions of this edition – are certainly revisions of the editors, modelled on analogous bars 8-9 (GE2op) or 152-153 (GE2no2). category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: GE revisions , Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 138-139
|
composition: Op. 64 No 2, Waltz in C♯ minor
..
The absence of the slur in both versions of GE1 means that most probably it was originally absent in FE too, in which, however, it was added – probably by Chopin – in the last phase of proofreading. The slurs added in later GE, embracing two full bars, are a result of a revision, same as in bars 10-11. In turn, an earlier beginning of the slur in EEC may be simply an inaccuracy. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: GE revisions , EE inaccuracies , Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 140-141
|
composition: Op. 64 No 2, Waltz in C♯ minor
..
The beginning of the slur in FE is written slightly inaccurately, which explains an earlier beginning of the slur in all the remaining editions (one quaver too early). The interpretation of the slur of A – see bars 12-13. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in FE |
