The comparison with similar bar 37 reveals that the absence of the slur over the quavers in the middle part of the bar is almost certainly one of the numerous inaccuracies concerning A slurs. Therefore, in the main text we prolong the first slur to the 6th quaver (cf. the slurs in a similar situation in bar 36).

In the main text we do not include the additional slur over the sextuplet – cf. General Editorial Principles, p. 16. The slur was also omitted in GE (→FE,EE,IE), probably by mistake, as further on in the piece similar slurs were reproduced unchanged.

In GE bar 23 ends a page, which resulted in an ambiguity concerning the range of the slur, as in this bar it reaches only just the last quaver, yet on the next page it clearly suggests (in accordance with A) that it should be continued. This suggestion is already less evident in IE, hence we consider the slurs in this edition to be divided, as in FE, in which there is no doubt that the slur is divided. In EE the entire slur over bars 24-26 was omitted. In the main text we provide the continuous A slur.
