b. 352

composition: (Op. 4), Sonata in C minor, Mvt IV

2 various slurs in A, literal reading

2 slurs in A, contextual interpretation

Slur in GE (→FE,EE)

2 slurs in IE

..

The second slur in the bottom voice is barely visible in A – the beginning blends in with the stave, while the ending is probably inaccurate, as there is no reason for the range of these two slurs to differ. Due to the above, in the main text we standardise them after the first one. In GE (→FE,EE) it was only the first slur that was reproduced (inaccurately). In IE in the 2nd half of the bar a slur modelled after the 1st half was added.

composition: (Op. 4), Sonata in C minor, Mvt IV

Slurs in A

No slurs in GE (→FE,EE,IE)

..

The absence of the slurs in the editions is due to the carelessness of the engraver of GE, who either overlooked or omitted the slurs, which are difficult to engrave (in the original notation with the use of an octave sign, the slurs fall on the stave).
